iPhone 15 Design Rumors

The iPhone 15 may have a curved shape like to that of the iPhone 11 Pro Max, according to a design leak for the upcoming model. The most recent iPhones from Apple have a design that has flat edges, however a leaker as ShrimpApplePro(opens in new tab) claims that even while the display will have the same design, the bezels on all three devices may have curved edges. The iPhone 11 Pro Max was the final iteration of the iPhone to include the curved-edge display.

The most prominent speculation concerning the design of the iPhone 15 so far is that Apple will eventually do away with the Lightning port on its phones in the year 2023. This shouldn't come as much of a surprise given that the firm has already adopted the connection for its laptops and tablets, as well as the fact that the European Union has officially mandated that all phones would be required to use USB-C by the year 2024.

Even while Apple could preserve the Lightning connector in other regions of the world, doing so would add complexity and expense with no discernible increase in benefit.

Even if there are persistent speculations of a portless iPhone, analyst Ming-Chi Kuo believes that Apple would use USB-C for at least some of their upcoming handsets. If a portless version is released sometime in the following year, our best estimate is that it will be a feature exclusive to the Pro model. Mark Gurman also stated that the iPhone 15 will be equipped with UCB-C and that a portless device will be released at some point in the future; however, he did not indicate when this would occur.

This USB-C port rumour for the iPhone 15 received more support from a tipster known as LeaksApplePro, who claimed that USB-C ports and the Dynamic Island might be seen on all models of the iPhone 15. The latter is an encouraging piece of information, since we'd be a little disappointed if Apple decided to just include a USB-C connection on iPhone 15 Pro variants. And now that the EU has mandated that all phones must have USB-C ports by the year 2024, we can almost guarantee that the iPhone 15 will include USB-C ports.

However, according to Ming-Chi Kuo, the type of USB-C port that is implemented may be different between Pro and non-Pro devices. According to him, the regular iPhone 15 and the iPhone 15 Plus could still have the same data transfer speeds as current Lightning iPhones, while only the iPhone 15 Pro and the iPhone 15 Pro Max would get faster speeds as a result of their USB-C ports. He says this is because the USB-C ports on the iPhone 15 Pro and the iPhone 15 Pro Max are more advanced. It does not matter what happens with individual models; the fact that the iPhone 15 will support USB-C is a significant development for iPhone customers. Despite the fact that one of our editors recently travelled with a USB-C phone, they are of the opinion that the world may not be ready for USB-C just yet, despite the fact that the iPhone 15 may switch to it this year.

Gurman is quoted as saying that all iPhone 15 models will receive the Dynamic Island in another story. This may encourage more app developers to create programmes that are compatible with the functionality that morphs the camera cutout into a display, which would further expand the potential of the device.

Gurman maintains that Apple has no plans to bring Touch ID, which allows users to scan their fingerprints, back to flagship iPhones in the immediate future, despite persistent rumours to the contrary. It would appear that the business has been testing in-display Touch ID, and they even contemplated adding it to the power button, but it appears that Face ID will be the only choice beginning in 2023 and moving forward.

It's a terrible shame that Apple hasn't included this feature on its high-end phones since the iPhone 8, as it was rather useful. When everyone was required to wear masks and Face ID was having trouble keeping up, having the option of using Touch ID would have been extremely helpful. During these months, everyone was required to wear masks, and Face ID was having trouble keeping up.

According to a recent rumour that originated with Ming-Chi Kuo, "two high-end iPhone 15s" will be released with solid-state buttons, much like the home button that can be found in devices such as the iPhone SE. Another claim made by Barclays analysts, who believe that the iPhone 15 Pro would include solid-state buttons, and another claim made by analyst Jeff Pu, who says that Apple will use more Taptic Engine vibration motors to deliver feedback for these buttons, gave this theory additional credence.

The upside of this is that there would be less moving components that are exposed to the outside elements, which might result in an iPhone that is more resilient, all while maintaining the same tactile button feel via haptics. This has been implemented on the MacBook range's Force Touch trackpad, where it has proven to be very effective. If the aforementioned rumours turn out to be true, then Apple might try to imitate that with the next iPhone.

ApplePro speculates that Apple may alter the appearance of the back panel of the iPhone 15 in the near future. They claim that it will have curved edges like the older iPhone 5C, which would make it easier to grip than the current iPhone models. This would be a positive development for Apple. The most recent reports that have come from LeaksApplePro suggest, on the other hand, that the iPhone 15 series might not have a rounded design after all. It's possible that Apple may remain with its present flat-back design because supply chain concerns and design constraints connected to wireless charging will prevent them from changing it.

Even though it is only based on speculations, a render of the iPhone 15 Pro that was created by 4RMD has taken these rumoured design changes and transformed them into a concept that looks fantastic. This updated render reveals a number of new features, including haptic power and volume buttons, a thinner Ceramic Shield back plate that enables a curved-edge design, and a titanium body. All of these features are seen in the image. Even if the final design of the iPhone 15 Pro is probably going to be a little bit different, the concept has surely piqued our interest in what might be on the horizon.
