Eating high energy food keeps you fresh all the day and provides strength to complete the daily tasks. Fresh fruits, vegetables, nuts, beans, eggs, etc., are some of the healthy foods that provide you high energy. Of course, even a bar of chocolate with a glass of energy drink, also provides high energy, but this energy won't last for the whole day. Thus, one should be aware of the foods that provide long lasting energy and those which provide instant short-term energy. Healthy high energy foods are foods that are high in complex carbohydrates, proteins, vitamins and minerals, and which contain low amount of sugar, cholesterol and fats. Beans: Beans are wonderful natural energy boosters with loads of health benefits. Vegetables and Fruits:
Fresh fruits and vegetables, are some of the best high energy foods. Vegetables can be eaten raw, boiled, steamed or you prepare a yummy recipe from them. Moreover, if you are trying to lose weight, green leafy vegetables can prove useful to you. Vegetables like cabbage, broccoli and spinach are high in vitamins and minerals and provide lot of energy to the body. Even fruits are high energy foods that can be eaten for breakfast or snacks.  Oatmeal: One more high energy food which is considered as one of the best high energy foods for athletes, is oatmeal. This high energy food is rich source of dietary fiber and complex carbohydrates. This is a useful high energy food because it slows the process of glucose absorption and hence maintains high energy levels for longer period. Oats also contain vitamins and minerals, which include zinc and B-complex vitamins.
